There are so many things that i want to do in this life. There are things that i want to do- just once. And others, i want to do it over and over again.
Amongst the things that i like to do is to make my parents (in laws included) happy. Especially dah ada Luqman ni, i know it means a lot to me, when he flashes me the BEST smile, or the most huggable hug or the shriekiest scream. He makes me happy over and over again.
At times when we are with our parents 24-7, we take for granted the things they do for us. In a way i admire my husband for being such a loving and most of all PATIENT son. In a mother-father-son relationship there is a lot to give and take, and at this age there's a lot to give actually.
Mak was really happy when we visited her; and was really happy i gave her a little Luq. Everybody has their past, but in us and in their grandson Mak & ABah see their future. And InsyaAllah that future is a bright and happy one.
Kadang-kadang dalam kepala tu ingat pesan Abah, "sebelum keluar cek dulu tayar kete ada angin ke tak. Bangun tido mesti cek. Kalau dah siap pakai baju semua pastu tengok tayar takdak angin apa gunanyer". Hahah funny advise but true, cos it happened to me once. Thanks Mak & Abah for loving me like your own daughter; espcially getting me my favorite terubuk bakar Penarak tepi laut everytime i visit.

Father's Day
Father's Day was last week but it was ultra busy as Luqqie Bee has the eczema and had to treat it by visiting a paeds-dermatologist. Nevertheless i still owe Luq's abah a gift which will be delivered soon! Luqqie Bee, you have a wonderful wonderful father and this special post is for him...
Your abah has been the most supportive person in this line i call motherhood. Words cannot decsribe how grateful i am that he is yor abah. I guess he is a mother as well to you; as i reminisce your first few days in our life; couldnt have done it without him! He took care of us during pantang and those miserable days at the hospital he was our shoulder to cry on.
Even now, he smothers you with millions of kisses when he comes home (could be contributory of this eczema? hmm hmm); takes care of you when Mommy needs a shopaholic day, takes us for holidays when we need to (do i see KK in July??) and above all ..tender Love and care for us. Although these days he does a bit of a shoddy job in the diaper department, and frowns over Mommy's sterilisation regime, but who cares we are nothing without him!
Of course he says Luqman is Anak Abah, and i have to agree..altho deep down Luqman is Anak Mummy cos Luq smiles like Mummy!
Here goes the tug of war for Luqqie.
But Luq dear you must so know today; that you were born to a wonderful wonderful father, and i hope you carry the saying, like father like son. Be just like him!
Happy Father's Day Abah!

Ummu Luqman recommends: Little Bean steriliser
Who could live without a steriliser? Heheh i always make this joke and my husband will geleng kepala. He does not get my obsession with sterilisers.
Simple fact is that when there is a baby in the house, every single thing must be clean and hygenic. This is for the better health of the baby of course, so he wont be infected with diseases. We use the Little Bean steam steriliser every single day, one at my house and one at nenek's. Very easy to use, just wash your bottles, arrange on the double tray, 90ml of water goes in and teeetttt...press the button. Voila! Ready to use sterilised clean bottles after just 8 mins!
With a baby in the house, this item is a must! It will make your life caring for the baby soo much easier!

Ummu Luqman recommends: The Ring Sling
A ring sling is a must for me! I received it as a gift from a good friend.I tried it all, carriers , chairs, strollers..they are all must haves but the ring sling is the most handy and easiet to use!
Tips: borrow a friend's sling and try it in front of the mirror, watch You tube and learn how to use the sling. There are many ways to carry the baby. Ring slings can be used from infant but Luqqie started to be comfy after 4 months of age.
Wear your baby and keep him happy! Research has shown that babies who are kept close to mother and snugg on her chest are easier to calm, and become more confident kids. Well logically i think it keeps baby secure; so he will quiet down easily.

Baby's smile
Dear Luqman,
I just feel like writing to you today. You have been such an angel that brought colours to my life. Today i had to wake you up early, and as you let out that squirmy little scream, i changed your mami poko and talked tou you, telling you that you need to get ready to go to nenek's. You have a little blocked nose yesterday and i was so worried it will get more serious in the morning. Thank God it didnt.
I kissed your supple cheeks, caressed your masam-ed head with very little hair; and cuddled your tiny little body covered with an oversized multi-striped pyjamas.
Just your smile, that beaming sweet and honest smile, lights up my day. Everyday.

June updates
So much has happened, where shall i start? well not gonna spill details about work, cos work is work, i love my job, my life revolves around work and i hope this path takes me further and further.
But i loveee to write about my baby :)
He is 5 months plus today and next month we can start on solids! woo hoo
Mommy is gonna splurge (again!) on baby feeding stuff, looking around for the best foods to start with (of course nenek will do all the initial cooking!), some fancy looking bibs and table ware, and camera all ready to snap Luqman's 1st attempt at food! Of course we have tried to pinch some fruit into his small little mouth and he wnet ..slurp slurpp..suke makan betul!
I have warned my mother against overfeeding and avoiding these sugary salty stuff cos i dont want it to interfere with my campaign against sweet/salty foods. I hope my mother takes notice of that :p
Luqman has been so manja with the family these days. He is bigger now and everybody wants to play with him. Especially when he laughs and give us a big huge smile even as early as 6am. He is ultimately the apple of our eyes at home.
Lately so many good things have happened. I am so thankful i have a happy and supportive husband and family; raising Luq has been so wonderful. Especially my husband, who has to put up with my many gadgety needs (haha) for the baby. And also my maid (thank God she is here) who does everything at home perfectly well so that i can have absolute baby time after work and need not woory about the rest at home. Of course i owe a lot to my mother, who takes care of lil Luq like he is her first child. Nothing can replace a mother's touch of course, but it is always safe tp count on family. :)
