The weekend maid took some weeks off for Raya and was scheduled to be back on 2.10.2009. I kept calling her mobile to check whether she was really back and ready for work. Mana la tau terstranded kat Indon, or busy with other things in her life.
I called her many times before the weekend, but her mobile was off. I thot ini kes tak balik lagi la, takpela ill let her have the weekend off.
This morning at 9am my mother called, and said: Makcik tunngu kat Tesco tapi takde orang ambik die. So instead she came to TTDI.
Me: WHAT? i called her many times, not my fault ok..her phone was off.
Mother: Yes her phone rosak.
Then mother put makcik on the phone.
me: Selamat hari raya! Orang call banyak kali tak dapat pun. mana nak tau makcik tunngu kat tesco.ingat tak keje lagi.
Makcik: Eh makcik ada jam 8 lagi. Makcik ni bukan jenis nak cuti-cuti lama tau; bukan nak duduk rumah saja nak buat apa..
Me: (hahha amboiiiii!!!!!) ok la datang esok hari ahad boleh tak? banyak baju nak gosok. mengemas tak sangat. Hari ni ada hal sikit la. (nak g open hse)
Makcik: ok la. esok jam 8 kat Tesco.
Haihhh macam2 makcik ni...kelakar betul

Motherhood 101
There is sooo much to look forward to when you're having a baby. There are things that i plan to prepare; practical stuff to learn; people i want to see and things i want to do before and after the baby comes.
There's also : Motherhood.
So much to write or talk about that. But basically i think motherhood starts from day 1 that you carry your baby. Being pregnant means you constantly think about this new being inside of you; and that feeling will stay forever. I become more conscious about what i eat or drink; whether it's healthy or not. What i do; the shows that i watch; as i know it's all part of the habit of raising a healthy and happy child.
I love reading philosophical books on babies and their life in utero; as well as motherhood. The practical ones are all over the store; but the ones i like best are like people telling stories of their mother-life and analysis of them.
Now that i have more energy; goin out and beraya is great fun. I have to confess i dont do baby shopping anymore; lose interest sekejap. Maybe will start buying attire next month. but i enjoy nite outs and company with my husband or a close girlfriend.
Been thinking of revamping this blog. It has gotten rather dull. And unlike some peole, i am so not a photo person..i take photos an dkeep them in my camera which in return really defeats the purpose of picture taking. I will try to post interesting articles on this blog for a change.

Balik kampung for raya
We took a week off to spend puasa with PILs in Langkawi. Food was scrumptious, weather a bit rainy but just fine. My FIL has been busy building his houseboat and fishing cages. Soon there will be more interesting activities when we balik kampung; other than shopping pinggan mangkuk of course.
Unlike mine, my husband comes from a pretty small family. There is not much visiting to do (to my relief!) but many friendly faces to meet and very close relatives to spend some xtra quality time with. I guess the saying the more the merrier is not exactly true. I love the combination of the green sawah padi and the deep blue sea. The view of the ocean always manage to clean our eyes after a very tiring day.
My FIL says , nak letak buaian on the houseboat. He means a hammock. I was imagining lazing on the houseboat with cucur cempedak, a good book and a lazy white cat on the hammock. Bliss! Cant wait for it to materialise.
We found a new lepak/eating place in Perdana Quay, where people get to have meals just a few inches away from the seawater. Very cool. The set up is also very simple and feels like you're on a real mexican vacation. Bring a book to read and order a cup of latte will be an excellent way to spend the evening at Perdana Quay.
I also managed to persuade F to have a late nite coffee at Westin, where you could sit under the stars, overlooking huge clear water swimming pools and private beaches just at a distant...with jazzy music and weird mat salleh just moving with the music hehe.
Hope to balik kampung again! i need the fresh air:p

B Plan
Is it me ,or is it the Msian headlines are really boring nowadays? I think that is why i dont usually read newspapers, they have nothing but political issues (which i dont care about).
Anyway yesterday A came to my house with her Baby M. Havent seen them for a while since the outbreak, A wasnt keen on taking baby M anywhere so we could not meet at the malls. And i have been busy myself. Baby M is now a full grown 1 year old! Oh my she was one healthy noisy and cute baby- she was a full breastfed baby even until now. actually from what i can compare breastfed babies are miraculously different and healthier compared to non-breastfed babies. Of course quoting A; it comes with a lot of hard work and sacrifices; like she cant leave the baby for long and there has been and still are many many disturbing nites. But now Baby M is one healthy baby; less illness and very easy to handle. I hope i have the courage, patience and enthusiasm to exclusively breastfeed.
I have to get all my stuff ready before i give birth; as for now i have purchased the medela b.pump and A suggest i buy more storage bottles. Will keep that in mind. And my maid will come I.Allah in November, will need to train her fast so that she can take over all household chores while i concentrate on the baby. Plans plans plans..

On the road again
It's a short weekend, but it feels like a long weekend. Long weekends are weekends spent by the beach deck in langkawi. Long weekends consists of long strolls at the mall, or a black hot coffee with friends over silly conversations.
I havent slept sincel 4 am . Maybe because this is the first time i cooked for sahur; much to the surprise of my sleepy-eyed husband. Anyway; i've been putting down a list of "I wishes..."
1. I wish i was on a road trip, across a heavenly green countryside; cold crisp weather...and we pour hot latte from our flasks to keep ourselves warm..
2. I wish i was by the beach with a good friend, just enjoying some Italian food and letting the hours pass by whilst waiting for the sun to set.
3. I wish i was a good cook.
4. I wish i could travel again, soon!!!!!! To a foreign land!

Progress

The more doctor visits i have ; the more excited i am over the baby. Today i had to do a glucose test; and oh my how great govt doctors are when it comes to drawing blood. They are the experts la!
Alhamdulillah baby has been wild and kicking; very busy indeed. Our next check up with my private doctor is next week; and i really can't wait to see bunny boy's progress!
Right now i have to focus on drinking more soymilk, vege and fruits to keep me healthy. Masa at the clinic there were many overweight moms, gave me a bit of a scare but i think i can manage since im entering my 6th month soon.
Soon we are flying back to Langkawi and we are already getting excited. We will be there for a week till 1st raya; yay i plan to go beach-walking, makan ikan bakar and shopping pinggan mangkuk heheh..it will be great to finally get to rest this Rmadhan and spend time with F's family. Excited. Excited to see the beach again; and Abah's houseboat and new fish net! Wow ive missed a lot these past few months.
#hmm thinking of cake!
