The Holiday

When i was little, my dad used to take my very indian twin and i on trips to Singapore; to go book-hunting and bookshopping. You see then, Borders and Kino were still crawling into KL. We didnt have the superstores here then.
We'd pack our bags and take the bus or drive right into the heart of Orchard Road and pick the books we want at the stores. We'd walk all over non stop till our feet ache and only return to the hotel when all the shops were closed. We'd stop by some open air cafe to see a band playing some groovy old songs, and watch the world just passing by.It was soo great i wish that part of my life could repeat. Over and over again.

I need a holiday. Badly. Not really the ones with the sandy beach or grand museums. Just to take a few days off from work, to be able to wake up and feel that the weekend is longer than just 2 days. To be able to do some reading before 8am. To pull my rattan blinds up and watch people driving off to work. To wear my pink pajamas all day. To have breakfast at Jaipur and not feel guilty over the sweet teh tarik. To take long walks at the park and not worry about time. To be at the bookshop at 11am and just lay back and enjoy the coffee over some magazines. To have long lunches with old friends and not think about rushing back to the office. Just to be out; or at home whilst everyone else is at work. To be alone, to do my own things. To sleep. To be at home. To read. To write. To chill.

I need to plan THAT holiday, now.
